When a person faces a serious injury, he or she may worry how the injury will affect day-to-day activities. Injuries could result in a person's having to miss work, and as a outcome, they may face financial issues due to medical bills or lost income. If a person is injured on the job, the situation may result in an individual potentially qualifying for temporary benefits through workers' compensation.

One worker in Illinois may be hoping to find out more about such benefits after he was injured on the job. It was reported that the man fell and hit his head on the Red Line tracks. The incident reportedly took place at approximately 1 a.m. It was not noted what type of work the 46-year-old man was doing at the time.

He was transported to an area hospital after the incident and was later considered to be in stable condition. The exact extent of his injuries was not detailed in the report. A photo from the incident shows the man being wheeled away on a stretcher by medical personnel.

Accidents that take place on the job can be frightening events that shake the injured party as well as other workers present. After this Illinois accident, it is likely that the man will face medical expenses relating to his treatment and could potentially face other financial difficulties if he must take time away from work. However, due to the nature of the incident, the man may qualify for temporary benefits, and information on workers' compensation may be beneficial.
