When a driver cuts off another driver, that second driver may have a limited time frame in which to react. In most cases, parties want to avoid a collision, but sadly, even taking evasive action can sometimes result in an accident taking place. When such a car accident does occur, a driver could be killed, and family may be left looking for answers.

It was recently reported that an accident on an Illinois interstate resulted in the death of a driver. Reports indicated that the individual was driving a vehicle when the vehicle was cut off by a second vehicle that changed lanes. The driver then attempted to avoid colliding with the second vehicle, which resulted in the first vehicle traveling across the median of the interstate and into the other lanes. That vehicle then struck three additional vehicles.

The situation caused a fatal injury, and three additional individuals were also injured. Sections of the interstate were closed while authorities and emergency crews examined the scene and transported individuals to the hospital. The identity of the deceased victim was not released at the time of the report, and authorities will likely continue to investigate.

Any car accident that leads to the death of an individual is a tragedy. The family members of the Illinois victim are likely interested in knowing whether the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident will be charged in relation to the crash. If that driver is held responsible for the incident, the family may want to file a wrongful death claim in order to seek compensation for permitted damages.
