Illinois accident reconstruction officials were recently sent to the scene of a crash that ended the life of one man and injured another. Once at the scene, they were expected to put the pieces back together to determine exactly what happened. The fatal car accident occurred in South Suburban Matteson.

According to a report, the car accident happened when the automobile crashed on the on-ramp of a local highway. The violence of the impact caused the death of the driver. In addition, a passenger in the car was ejected. The extent of the passenger's injuries was not detailed in published reports.

When the Illinois accident investigation team conducts its reconstruction of the accident, they will likely be able to determine exactly what happened to cause the fatal crash. This inquiry may include a review of all physical evidence as well as taking eyewitness statements. The information gathered may also allow officials to assess fault to the driver of the single vehicle involved in the incident.

Once it is determined who was at the wheel of the car when it crashed, the victim of the car accident may find that they are able to make a claim against the driver under local personal injury laws. This claim may seek a damage award for the injuries suffered by the victim as well as lost wages and pain and suffering. Alternatively, if the victim is deceased, the surviving family may be able to make a claim for wrongful death. If available, such claims could assist the car accident victim or their survivors with the economic costs that were suffered as a result of the incident, thus allowing recovery more quickly from the horrific crash.
