Tragic car accident ends life of one Illinois man

On Behalf of | Feb 16, 2013 | Car Accidents

Serious car accidents involving more than one vehicle can occur with what seems like no warning. One such multi-vehicle crash happened recently on an Illinois roadway. The car accident involved not only a car, but also a taxi and a tow truck. One person died as a result of the unfortunate incident.

According to an early report from Illinois officials, a car rear-ended a tow truck on I-294 on a weekend morning. After the impact, the driver of the tow truck exited his vehicle to speak with the driver of the car. That is when the taxicab smashed into the car, sending the cab spinning out of control.

The tow truck driver was struck by the spinning cab. Though he was injured in the car accident, his injuries were not life threatening. In total, four people were sent to the hospital for medical treatment as a result of this tragic incident. The degree of their injuries is not yet clear. In addition, the driver of the car died at the scene, though officials are investigating to determine exactly what caused his death.

The car accident that occurred on the Illinois highway resulted in injury and death. Though it is not yet clear exactly why the car smashed into the back of the tow truck or why the taxicab failed to avoid the crash, officials are likely seeking answers. As they do, they may find that at least one of the drivers is at fault for the injuries suffered by the accident victims. If that is the case, there may be liability assessed under our local personal injury laws against the person at fault as a result of this fatal crash.
