Illinois officials have announced sad news about a crash that happened recently. The car accident that happened on a weekend night ended the lives of five people, three of who were members of the same family. Now, officials are left to try to piece together exactly what happened.
Early reports from Illinois police indicate that the vehicle involved in the car accident was travelling on Hamilton County Road 750E when the incident occurred. For reasons that are as of yet unclear, the driver of a SUV-type vehicle carrying six people lost control. As he did, the car apparently began to roll over several times.
At least five people were ejected as the car continued to tumble. A sixth remained in the car during the crash. Only one person survived the single-vehicle car accident. He was transported to a local hospital where he was said to be being treated for his injuries. It is not clear as to how extensive those injuries were as a result of the incident.
Now, the injured man and the survivors of the deceased victims may be able to make a claim against the driver of the car. Such claims can include wrongful death, pan and suffering and lost wages in Illinois. These types of actions are often made against an individual felt to be at fault in these type of car accident cases by the victims and can result in the financial recovery of the victims and their survivors. Even still, any emotional recovery is generally much slower to come, and surviving family often never fully feels the same again.
