Truck accidents: Three vehicles involved in Illinois crash

On Behalf of | Feb 27, 2015 | Truck Accidents

When a driver fails to see a vehicle that is in front of him or her, there is a high chance that an accident will occur. Some vehicles are able to apply the brakes in time for the impact to be lessened, but some crashes can be quite severe. Truck accidents that take place due to a driver colliding with the rear of another vehicle can cause serious injuries and perhaps involve multiple vehicles.

An accident in Illinois recently took place that involved a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles. Reports stated that the driver of the tractor-trailer was traveling west when the truck crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The initial impact caused the second car to hit another vehicle that was in front of it. It is unclear why the truck driver did not stop.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported from the scene of the crash with serious injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries, and the driver of the third vehicle was apparently uninjured. It was not mentioned whether any charges may stem from the accident, but authorities should continue their investigation.

Truck accidents often have devastating results, so some may consider it fortunate that this Illinois incident did not result in any fatalities. However, one party was seriously injured, and that individual could face considerable setbacks from the incident. In addition to the physical challenges associated with his injuries, medical expenses could also lead to financial drawbacks. Therefore, the injured party may wish to give some thought to filing a personal injury claim in order to pursue compensation for resulting damages.
