When a vehicle fails to stop at a stop sign, there are various outcomes that could stem from that action. A driver may simply continue traveling, or an officer may stop the vehicle if the action was witnessed. In a worst case scenario, a car accident could result from a driver failing to stop, and serious injuries could be an outcome. If a person is injured in such a situation, pursuing compensation could be an option.

A recent accident in Illinois led to serious injures for multiple individuals. Reports stated that a vehicle traveling south failed to stop at a stop sign, and as a result, a vehicle traveling east crashed into the passenger side of the first vehicle. The first vehicle then ended up in a ditch.

The first vehicle contained three occupants, and the second vehicle had one individual inside.  All four parties had to be transported from the scene due to suffering injuries. Two individuals inside the first vehicle had to be airlifted to the hospital. The severity of the other injuries was not disclosed. It was noted that the driver of the first vehicle received a citation.

If the driver of the second vehicle was seriously injured in the car accident, she may be facing medical expenses and personal discomfort due to her injuries. Therefore, she could potentially wish to consider seeking restitution for the damages resulting from the Illinois crash. Information on filing a personal injury claim could prove beneficial if an injured party wants to work toward gaining compensation from the driver considered at fault.
