Truck accidents: Multiple injuries result from Illinois collision

On Behalf of | Apr 9, 2015 | Truck Accidents

When a vehicle does not stop at a red light, there is a high chance that an accident will occur. Intersections can be difficult to safely maneuver, and if all drivers are not paying attention, truck accidents or other collisions could easily occur. These accidents can at times be difficult about which to draw conclusions, and investigations are exceedingly important in order to determine who may have been at fault.

It was recently reported that a collision occurred in Illinois that resulted in serious injuries. Reports stated that a vehicle was traveling through an intersection heading north when it was hit by an eastbound semi-truck. It was not noted in the report which driver may have had the right of way when the accident took place.

Two individuals in the first vehicle suffered serious injuries. At least one person had to be cut from the vehicle and was then flown from the scene for treatment. The driver of the semi-truck was also injured and taken to the hospital. Authorities are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the accident come forward with any information they may have.

Because it is unclear who may have been at fault for the Illinois accident, legal action may not be able to be taken immediately. However, authorities should work to determine who is considered at fault, and once that information is disclosed, individuals who were seriously injured may wish to file a personal injury claim. Such claims can help victims of truck accidents pursue compensation for pain and suffering, medical bills and other damages.
