Vehicle crashes into building in Illinois car accident

On Behalf of | Apr 5, 2015 | Car Accidents

The circumstances under which an accident takes place can vary from situation to situation. Some individuals may be injured in a car accident but not even have been on the road when the crash took place. Vehicles can leave the roadway and crash into houses and other buildings, which puts the occupants of those buildings at risk. If a person inside a building is seriously injured due to a vehicle collision, there may be reason to file a personal injury claim.

An accident recently took place in Illinois that led to the injuries of three people. It was reported that a pickup truck had pulled into the parking lot of a restaurant, but instead of pressing the brake in order to park, the driver pressed the gas. As a result, the truck crashed into the building.

Three patrons of the restaurant were uninjured, but two kitchen workers suffered injuries. One individual was treated and released, but the other worker was transported from the scene to an area hospital. The driver of the truck was also taken from the scene. The truck driver received a citation in relation to the crash.

A car accident that involves a vehicle crashing into a building can seem like a highly unexpected event. Unfortunately, this incident led to the injuries of multiple people. If the kitchen worker who was transported from the scene suffered serious injuries, the individual may wish to consider taking legal action. A personal injury claim could help that party seek compensation for medical bills, lost income and other damages that may result from the Illinois incident.
