Motorcycle accidents: Man taken to hospital after Illinois crash

On Behalf of | May 16, 2015 | Motorcycle Accidents

Vehicles turning in front of motorcycles account for a considerable number of motorcycle accidents. Because motorcycles are such small vehicles, they are often overlooked by drivers of larger ones. Unfortunately, no matter how motorcycle accidents occur, they often lead to serious injuries or fatalities. With such results, affected individuals may wish to seek compensation.

A recent accident in Illinois resulted in a motorcyclist having to be transported to the hospital. It was reported that the motorcycle was traveling west when an eastbound SUV attempted to make a left turn. Unfortunately, the driver of the SUV traveled into the path of the motorcyclist and a collision occurred. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to the damage sustained in the crash.

Though the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, he still suffered injuries in the incident. The extent of those injuries was not disclosed in the report, but it was noted that he was transported from the scene. It was not mentioned whether the driver of the SUV suffered any injuries. That individual was cited, however, for failure to yield. Authorities should continue to investigate the incident.

If the motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident, there is a significant chance he could face medical bills and other financial burdens, as well as physical stress as he recovers from those injuries. Motorcycle accidents are unfortunate events, but individuals should understand that they have legal options if they are seriously injured. Filing a personal injury claim could allow an accident victim to seek compensation for damages resulting from an Illinois accident.
