When individuals lose control of their vehicles, there is a considerable chance that an accident will occur. Such a car accident may only involve the single vehicle, or other vehicles may also be involved, depending on the circumstances of the event. In either case, drivers and/or passengers could suffer life-threatening injuries, and some parties may not survive.
A recent accident in Illinois reportedly took place after a driver lost control. Reports stated that a man was driving a pickup truck when he lost control and struck a median in the roadway. The truck then re-entered traffic and hit a van before striking the median again. The truck then flipped. A passenger in the truck was thrown from the vehicle as a result.
The passenger who was ejected was transported from the scene with life-threatening injuries. He unfortunately succumbed to those injuries and was declared dead at an area hospital. It was not mentioned whether any other individuals involved in the crash suffered injuries. It was also not disclosed whether any charges may result from the fatal accident, but authorities will likely continue to investigate and apply charges as they see fit.
Because this Illinois car accident led to the death of an individual, the victim’s family may wish to consider their legal options. Filing a wrongful death claim against the driver deemed responsible could allow them to seek compensation for damages resulting from the crash. Information on filing such a claim could help them determine whether such a step is fitting for their situation.
