A recent accident in Illinois had devastating results involving multiple teenagers. Reportedly, the car accident occurred after 2 p.m. Three 18-year-olds were in the single vehicle that was involved in the crash. It's not exactly clear what caused the crash to occur. It was noted, however, that the owner of the vehicle was not driving at the time of the incident, though she was a passenger.

All three individuals inside the car suffered fatal injuries. One female passenger and the male driver were both declared dead at the scene, and another female passenger was transported from the scene to an area hospital. She succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at approximately 4 p.m.

Authorities are continuing to investigate to determine what factors may have played a role. It was mentioned that all three individuals were wearing seat belts and that the airbags in the vehicle deployed properly. Additional information concerning the tragedy will likely be available at a later time once the investigation concludes.

Because the individual driving the vehicle and the owner of the vehicle were two different parties, there could be multiple parties who bear financial responsibility for the car accident. If family members of the victims wish to seek compensation, they may wish to find out more about who could be held responsible for the crash. After learning more about such information, they may consider filing wrongful death claims against the party or parties in order to seek compensation for damages permitted under Illinois law. If a party considered at fault dies, his or her estate may be named as a defendant in any civil litigation related to a fatal accident.
