Several people injured in Illinois car accident

On Behalf of | Jan 5, 2016 | Car Accidents

A recent crash in Illinois resulted in several people being taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. Reports stated that the car accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. when an SUV and a car collided head on. Details regarding which vehicle may have crossed into the other lane and other factors pertaining to the cause of the crash were not given in the report.

It was also noted that a third vehicle was involved after the driver attempt to avoid the initial collision. The driver of that vehicle struck a guardrail as a result. Apparently, the driver was the only individual in that vehicle. Nine other individuals were said to have been involved as occupants of the SUV and other car.

Eight people were injured in the crash and taken to area hospitals. It was unclear what injuries they may have suffered, but it was noted that at least two individuals had to be rescued from the vehicles after becoming trapped. Authorities will likely continue to investigate the incident and determine whether any charges and/or citations may be suited to the situation.

If serious injuries resulted from this Illinois car accident, it is possible that legal action could be taken against the driver considered responsible. Seriously injured parties may wish to consider filing personal injury claims against the individual deemed at fault in order to seek compensation for permissible damages. Information on how to take such civil action as well as other potential options may prove useful to interested parties hoping to gain restitution.
